For about twenty years I have seen adoptive families and children. Most of these children have had severe trauma prior to their being adopted; they have been in foster care or in orphanages. Most of the children/adolescents meet criteria for a number of diagnoses including : Reactive Attachment Disorder, PTSD,and/or Developmental Trauma Disorder.
